Father/Older brother figure to Canada. Looks up to him despite the fact that England has on occasion forgotten his name. This has happened a bit less as of coming to Death City so he's quite happy about that. He was disappointed that England didn't visit him in the infirmary, but he reasons that he just simply forgot like he's done in the past, and got over it.
England telling him that he had the utmost faith in him did fill him with a lot of pride. He's glad that, when England is aware of him, that he is reliable enough to earn England's trust.
There is probably no proper way to describe the sort of relationship these two have but, let's see. America is loud, pushy, demanding and always causing trouble for Canada. It seems like sharing a border with the guy for as long as he's had to has guaranteed him never a moments quiet.
However, America is his brother and probably the closest relation he has out of the other countries. Despite sibling rivalries, Canada does care about him. And worries about him. A lot, especially here in Death City where he seems so dead set on getting around the partnering thing. He hopes America realizes what he need to do soon for his sake.
Originally something of an unwanted house guest, China's sort of worked his way into Canada's home and heart. Finding it pretty lonely living by himself in Death City without even his bear to keep him company, China is a much welcomed addition to his livingroom (And kitchen) and suddenly dislikes the idea of him leaving.
Now, if China would just leave him something to eat once in a while...
The first person to talk to him in Death City, and ultimately became one of his most favorite people. Despite earlier resignations about her since she seemed to think he was nuts when he introduced himself as a country, he finds her possibly one of the most intriging and fun people he's ever met.
Not only that, but Rise's done so much for him in just the short time he's known her, he doesn't know how to deal with it. From saving him during the raid, to visiting him when he was injured, and to just simply inviting him to help her with the festival and asking his opinions, Matt's absolutely beside himself.
He's in unfamiliar territory. To make things worse, Spirit seems to have put it in his head that he could like her a little more than as a friend.
He's not too sure about Prussia. He heard that he was unhappy some time ago and offered him some maple syrup to make him happy. When Prussia praised his syrup, Prussia was in his good graces. England also seems to trust him enough to make him his partner.
He's pretty loud though, much like a certain someone, and something about him just puts him off. He's not sure what to make of it.
Germany easily distinguishing him from his brother automatically earned brownie points with Canada. He likes that Germany is a sensible person and despite being opposite ends in previous wars, Canada finds him pleasent to talk to and get along with. Maybe it's because they both have such strange, loud brothers...
Is apparently a Meister. He wasn't sure what he thought of that at first until he reminded himself he was also a Meister, so maybe BREW has been hiccuping rather bad lately.
Italy walked away half through a conversation, and while he shouldn't have been surprised, found himself annoyed and hasn't really said much to him since then.
Sort of loud and angry. Was mostly terrified that one day during the meeting when he started to argue with him. So much so that he almost didn't realize that Vash was calling him America the whole time.
She's quiet and very mature for her age. Matt likes her, though he hasn't spoken too much with her yet. Even though Switzerland is loud, he wishes that they could find him before they have to assume the worst, for her sake.
Doesn't know her as well as he would like, since she seems to remember his name! She makes him a bit flustered and couldn't really say yes or no when China invited her to stay with them. Their apartment is starting to get rather full.
Hasn't interacted as much with. Though she doesn't seem to have mistaken him as America so that's always a plus. She seems nice, he's not sure why Prussia is so weird about her.
